About Andrea Fairbairn
Having been lucky enough to receive a good all round education, I won a Nuffield Scholarship to read Natural Sciences at Somerville College, Oxford University. I specialised in Mathematics and Physics, gaining an Upper Second Class degree.
After teaching in Africa for a year and a short spell working in engineering, I started my teaching career at Godalming Sixth Form College. There I taught Maths at all levels to Further Maths A level and beyond, preparing students for Oxford and Cambridge University entrance. That was where I discovered my love of teaching, and my passion to pass on my knowledge and love of Maths to others as much as possible.
My recent experience has largely been teaching at Sixth Form level, both in schools and in Colleges of Further Education. From 2000 onwards I combined teaching in schools in Surrey with private individual tuition, and now specialise in private tuition.
